GRF Progress Review

The Head of Swiss Foreign Affairs notably underlined that “crises are lasting, needs are increasing, and funding is decreasing. We must reduce bureaucracy, target vital needs, strengthen the role of local actors, and refocus our aid on people, not structures."

The 2018 Global Compact on Refugees reminds us that protecting refugees is not a moral option: it is a shared international responsibility. A responsibility that requires States to act in a coordinated and sustainable manner. By linking our migration policies more closely to the framework of the Compact, we can ensure a coherent asylum policy, while developing safer and more humane pathways for people on the move, whatever their reasons for displacement.
