Geneva Peace Week 2025

“Peace in Action” — this year’s theme for Geneva Peace Week 2025 — lived up to its promise.

Report

Over several days, the Maison de la Paix became a laboratory for ideas turned into practice, where policy experts, students, and community leaders met in dialogue, not debate. Panels focused on translating words into measurable impact, while artistic performances reminded participants of the human cost — and potential — of peacebuilding. For Switzerland, the week reinforced a familiar message: peace and human rights are inseparable. From Geneva’s vibrant multilateral ecosystem to the UN in New York and the OSCE space, Switzerland continues to advocate for dialogue anchored in dignity, inclusion, and the rule of law. As the country prepares for its 2026 OSCE Chairpersonship, the spirit of GPW25 offers a clear compass — to act, include, and protect — keeping people at the heart of peace efforts worldwide.
