ECOSOC Humanitarian Segment in Geneva

Geneva hosts the Humanitarian Segment of ECOSOC from 21-23 June 2023.

The need for a transformation of the humanitarian system and the response to food security and climate change challenges were in focus of debates, as well as the transition from relief to development.

True to its humanitarian tradition, Switzerland, host of ECOSOC every other year, reaffirmed that respecting international humanitarian law to ensure access to the most vulnerable populations is crucial as well as a proactive, contextualized, and accountable approach to affected populations.
